Cops: Glen Cove Man Caught With Child Pornography

A Glen Cove man has been charged with owning and promoting child pornography, authorities said.

Nassau County Police arrested Ralph DeMayo, 28, of Lawrence Lane, on Wednesday in an incident that occurred on Aug. 31.

DeMayo is a registered Level 1 sex offender, according to police.

Detectives say they that while conducting an investigation after a report filed with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, it was determined that DeMayo had uploaded various child pornography images on his home computer. On Wednesday, detectives from the Crimes Against Property Squad executed a search warrant at DeMayo’s home and placed him under arrest.

DeMayo was charged with three counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and three counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child.

He will be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
