Glen Cove Officer Receives Distinguished Service Award

A Glen Cove Police officer was the recent recipient of a Distinguished Service Award after he had a stellar year working on the job.

Ted Karousos was presented the award at a Nassau County Municipal Police Chief’s Association reception.

“Teddy Karousos embodies the virtues and qualities expected of a Glen Cove Police officer,” Glen Cove Police chief William Whitton said. “His dedication and commitment to the community made him a natural choice to receive this honor. “

This award is presented to one officer from each Nassau County Police Department for overall outstanding performance throughout the course of a year.

Besides working as a police officer, Karousos is a PRIDE instructor at Landing School and a Certified Field Training Officer for the Glen Cove Police Department.

“Congratulations to PO Karousos on this outstanding honor,” Mayor Reggie Spinello said. “Our community takes great pride in their police department and PO Karousos exemplifies the commitment and dedication our officers make each and every day to the City of Glen Cove.”
