Glen Cove School Budget Passes

GLEN COVE, NY--Glen Cove residents approved a 2019-20 school budget on Tuesday.

The $91,257,983 proposed budget was approved by a margin of 913-483. The budget is a 3.46 percent increase from the current year's. It's accompanied by a 1.99 percent bump in the tax levy. That is at the district's tax levy cap, so the budget only needed to be approved by a majority vote.

Voters also passed a proposition to establish a capital reserve fund, 876-414.

Lia Lione (798) and Karen Ferguson (587) were elected to the school board. Daniel Rios (365) and incumbents David Huggins (468) and Alexander Juarez (337) fell short.
