Glen Cove Schools Athletic Director Nationally Published

GLEN COVE, NEW YORK — Glen Cove School District has many reasons to thank their Athletic Director, Peter Cardone. Not only is he responsible for the positive atmosphere fostered within the District’s athletic program, but he has also shared his strategies for doing so with the national magazine, High School Today.

“Our District is proud to have Peter’s devotion to our athletic program acknowledged on a national level,” said Dr. Maria Rianna, Superintendent of the Glen Cove City School District. “He has set the standard for creating a positive culture in athletic programs across the nation.”

High School Today is the newest publication of the National Federation of State High School Associations. The magazine sets out to highlight national issues in high school programs while providing professional development articles for athletic directors, principals, superintendents and school board presidents. Cardone is one of two contributors to the professional development piece in this month’s issue titled, “Promoting Your Program and Building a Positive Culture.”

Within the article, both authors explain the role of how athletic directors promote success in student athletics and cultivate pride throughout the community. Cardone provides an interesting perspective on branding via merchandising and remaining current through social media engagement and live streaming.
