Glen Cove Sends Special Postcard to Tennessee Family in Heartwarming Connection
GLEN COVE, NY – A simple phone call to the Mayor’s Office turned into a heartwarming act of kindness, showcasing the spirit of connection and community that defines Glen Cove.
A grandmother from LaFollette, Tennessee, who babysits her homeschooled grandchildren, recently reached out with a special request. She’s helping her grandchildren—age four, eight, and ten—with a special homeschool project: collecting postcards from every state in the country. So far, they had received postcards from 18 states. Hoping to add New York to their collection, she randomly called our office in search of a postcard from Glen Cove.

There was just one problem—we didn’t have official Glen Cove postcards on hand. But we couldn’t let them down. Instead, we sprang into action, selecting some of our most beautiful waterfront images and creating custom postcards just for them.
When Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck heard about the request, she was thrilled to personally write a message to the children and even included a special note to their grandmother. As a former teacher and a proud grandmother herself, the project struck a special chord with her.

Her handwritten message read:
"Sending you this postcard from Glen Cove, NY. We are a beautiful city on Long Island. Come visit one day!"
Love, Mayor Pam
This simple act of kindness is a reminder of the power of small gestures to bring joy and connection, no matter the distance. And what better way to showcase our city than with a postcard from one of the best places to live in the country? Glen Cove was named 37th best place to live in the United States, according to a Money ranking released in recent years.
The City of Glen Cove is proud to share a piece of our beautiful home with a family hundreds of miles away—one postcard at a time. 😊
