Glen Cove Student Earns Gold Medal for Community Service
The senior's volunteer work focused on critically ill and disadvantaged children.

Glen Cove High School senior Evangelia Markoulis has earned the gold medal for the President’s Volunteer Community Service Award for 2016 stemming from her community service efforts on behalf of Helping Hand Rescue Mission.
The gold medal is the highest presidential level of volunteer service given to a student who has dedicated more than 271 hours in a calendar year focusing on critically ill and disadvantaged children. Principal Antonio Santana congratulated Evangelia on this prestigious achievement.
