Glen Cove Students Enjoy Field Day Celebration
The goal of the event was for the kids to enjoy themselves.
Students at Deasy School in Glen Cove enjoyed a wide range of outdoor activities when they participated in the school’s annual Field Day celebration.
Physical education teacher Chris MacDonald coordinated the event and said the main goal was for the children to have lots of fun. Field Day activities included obstacle courses, a pig toss and parachute games. Students also had an opportunity to test their balance and agility during relay-type games and enjoyed working together to take part in challenges. Highlights of the event, included a pizza box relay and a hula-hoop challenge, which required students to keep their arms connected while passing the hula-hoop to members of their team.
MacDonald expressed his gratitude for all of the parent volunteers, including members of the PTA who donated healthy snacks for the participants. The children also enjoyed deejay music thanks to teacher Steve Bromberg, who donated his equipment for the event.
