Long Island Woman Critically Hurt in Orlando Shooting
The woman's mother said her daughter was shot several times and isn't doing well.

A Glen Cove native is among the many people who was shot and injured during Sunday morning’s Orlando nightclub shooting, the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
In a Facebook post, Marissa Delgado’s mother, Lisa Morales Delgado, asked for people to pray for her daughter, who was shot several times.

“She is not doing good,” the mother wrote. “She's in surgery she lost a lot of blood. Please, everyone pray for my baby girl, that's my twin.”
Marissa, a graduate of Glen Cove High School, lives in Orlando and was inside Pulse nightclub when the gunman shot her approximately 12 times during his deadly rampage that left 50 people dead and 53 people hospitalized, according to NBC 4 New York.

Glen Cove Mayor Reggie Spinello asked for residents to send their prayers to Marissa and her family as she recovers in a Florida hospital. The City of Glen Cove has lowered its American flags to half-mast and will be flying a rainbow flag to show its support for the LGBT community.
A special prayer service will be held at St. Patrick's Church, located at 235 Glen St., Friday, June 17 at 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
