Glen Cove Youth Bureau Needs Your Help to Fill a Child's Bookbag

Back to school donations are wanted to help students in need.

The start of the school year can be a stressful time, especially for families on a fixed income.

The Glen Cove Youth Bureau is looking to change that.

GCYB says it costs $78 to purchase school supplies for a first grader and $83 to purchase school supplies for a fourth grader in the Glen Cove School District. This does not cover back to school clothing, shoes, coats and more.

When the family cannot afford to purchase school supplies, the child can be left alienated from the other students and unmotivated to succeed in school.
