Glen Gove Encourages Participation in Ferry Commuter Survey

The City wants residents to share their opinions on the Ferry Service.

The City of Glen Cove is requesting that commuters and area residents share their opinions on bringing back a Glen Cove Ferry service.

The ferry would be used for commuting and recreational travel, the City says.

Survey participation is voluntary and confidential. Results will be posted on the Glen Cove Ferry website.

The survey will help the City develop a Request for Proposal (RFP) to attract ferry operators to Glen Cove waters.

“As part of our due diligence process, the results of this survey will be a barometer that reflects the interest and opinions of current commuters and future recreational travelers,” said Mayor Reggie Spinello in a press release.

Deputy Mayor Barbara Peebles said the City will release the RFP this summer and will have a ferry operator in place by the end of 2015.
