Glen Head Man Charged with Burglary
The burglary occurred in Upper Brookville in October, police say.

A Glen Head was arrested Wednesday and charged with a burglary that occurred in an Upper Brookville home in October, authorities say.
Nassau Police say a woman returned to her Colonial Drive home on Oct. 27 at 8:45 a.m. and noted that the rear basement door and a second floor window were forced open. During an investigation of the home, police recovered DNA, and traced it to Thomas Laviano, 24.
Laviano was arrested after surrendering to police on Wednesday, police said.

The were no proceeds taken from the residence, according to police.
Laviano is charged with second-degree burglary.

He will be arraigned on Jan. 6, 2015, at First District Court in Hempstead.
