Golf Tournament to Provide Student Athletes With Scholarships in Glen Cove

The 27th annual John Maccarone Hall of Fame Golf Tournament will help raise money for outstanding student athletes in Glen Cove.

The tournament tees off in support of the John Maccarone Scholarship Fund, which was created in memory of John Maccarone, the late Recreation Supervisor and founder of the Glen Cove Hall of Fame. Maccarone was a strong supporter of student athletes.

Since the inception of the scholarship fund, about $80,000 in scholarship money has been awarded to outstanding academic-athlete students.

This year’s tournament will award six $1,000 scholarships to seniors from Glen Cove High School’s Class of 2015.

• When: Monday, July 20
• Where: Glen Cove Golf Course
• Start: at 7:30 a.m.
• Cost: $125 per golfer (includes green fees, carts, continental breakfast, lunch and a special gift)

There will be trophies for low gross for both men and women and senior men and women (60+), as well as prizes for closest-to-the-line, closest-to-the-pin and longest drive.

A 50-50 raffle will also take place. Local businesses and individuals can become Tee sponsors for $75.00 each.
