Good Deeds by young women
Francesca and Antonia Gambino, students at Sacred Heart Academy, receive the Good Deed Award

Francesca and Antonia Gambino, a senior and junior at Sacred Heart Academy, respectively, received The Good Deed Award for Long Island Teenagers 2017. Established by the National Committee for Furtherance of Jewish Education of Nassau County, the Good Deed Award recognizes teens for their fine example of service, kindness and leadership activities. The award is open to all teenagers on Long Island and is based upon nomination and the student’s demonstration of good deeds and ability to inspire their peers and the community at large. In 2011, Francesca and Antonia co-founded Strings for Healing, a group of volunteer string musicians who perform for patients at hospitals and nursing homes. The sisters have been routinely recognized for their service to others in local and global communities, including a fundraiser in fall 2016 during which they raised over $5,000 for the victims of the earthquakes in Italy.
