Mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, turkey and other staples of a traditional Thanksgiving meal were collected by students and faculty at Gribbin School in Glen Cove to help local families in need.
The food collection, organized by Gribbin School Social Worker Kristin Brosnan, took place throughout the month of November in an effort to ensure the donations would reach as many community members as possible.

“We coordinate with local agencies, including the Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club to make sure we can cover the biggest number of families in need,” Brosnan said.
Thanks to the generous donations of the school community, 17 local families received complete Thanksgiving meals in boxes decorated by Gribbin students.
