Glen Cove City School District’s students recently displayed their spelling skills at the annual spelling bee. Congratulations to fifth graders Ashley Reyes from Connolly Elementary School and Oliver Pinder from Landing Elementary School, as well as and seventh grader Sara Roditis from Robert M. Finley Middle School.

At Connolly, the fifth grade classroom winners competed for several rounds and Ashley Reyes spelled “barrier” correctly to become the school champion. At Landing, seven fifth grade students competed for the winning spot, and after 13 rounds, Oliver Pinder was victorious spelling the word “brambles.” At Finley students competed for 11 rounds and Sara Roditis won by correctly spelling ‘haughty’.
