High School Students Beautify Downtown Glen Cove
Art Club members decorate police booth for the holiday season
GLEN COVE, NEW YORK (DECEMBER 2022) — Members of the Glen Cove High School Art Club put their talents toward helping their community get in the holiday spirit. Students partnered with the Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) to decorate the city’s police booth in downtown Glen Cove.
“Thanks to the efforts of Glen Cove High School’s Art Club members, the downtown police booth—a staple of the community—is beaming with holiday joy for all to see,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Maria Rianna. “The District is very proud of our art students and all of their achievements. We are grateful to Ms. LeeAnn Palazzo, their advisor and arts mentor, who supports them in these community-based and artistic endeavors,” Dr. Rianna added.
Art Club members will also be sharpening their skills this holiday season by working with new materials and resources donated by the Glen Cove BID. Students will be pursuing several additional creative opportunities this holiday season, including designing and creating their own unique gingerbread houses.
