Keystone Members Partner with St. Patrick’s Church to Run ESL Classes for Summer

“Without community service, we would not have a strong quality of life. It's important to the person who serves as well as the recipient. It's the way in which we ourselves grow and develop.” – Dorothy Height.

Grenville Baker Keystone members have partnered with St. Patrick’s Church of Glen Cove to run beginner and intermediate ESL classes for adults who live locally.  The Classes will run Tuesday nights from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. all summer. Each class currently has 20 adults striving to learn the English language. Keystone members are teaching pronunciation, grammar, and the fundamentals of developing conversation skills.

“At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go because I didn’t know what to expect, but it was fun and we are helping people,” said Stephanie Canales, a GBBGC Keystone member.

They continue to make a difference in our community, which reinforces our mission to enable all young people to be community leaders of tomorrow.
