Large Tree Crushes Glen Cove Home

A homeowner just missed getting crushed by a large tree that fell onto her home and caused significant damage Monday morning in Glen Cove, police say.

According to Glen Cove Police, a 60-year-old woman had just left her bedroom when the tree fell onto the side of her Buckeye Road home at 8:30 a.m.

The den and bedroom in the ranch-style home were completely destroyed, but no one was hurt from the incident.

Strong and potentially damaging winds that could blow down trees and power lines were in the forecast for Monday.
