Local High School Grads Reunite for Jan. 27 Gig at The Metropolitan Bistro

Two local high school grads reunite for local concert in Sea Cliff

THIS FRIDAY, JAN. 27 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., Charles Kaplan (Wheatley H.S. '71) and his longtime buddy Duane Anzalone (Roslyn High ’71) will perform music of the Beatles, Van Morrison & the 1960's-80's at The Metropolitan Bistro in Sea Cliff! 8 P.M. to 11 P.M.

That night will be especially nostalgic since the restaurant’s owners, Billy and Anita Long, years ago operated Fearn’s Harness Shop, a wine and cheese bar on Roslyn’s Old Northern Blvd. where they helped the musical duo get their start! Both still have high school friends and family on Long Island and expect some will come to enjoy the music.

Kaplan grew up in Roslyn Heights’ Country Club section. He has been singing all of his life, and performs regularly on guitar in and around Connecticut where he now lives. He holds a doctorate in Psychology and works in private practice. In his teens, Roslyn Harbor native Anzalone played guitar in the legendary Roslyn band, Station Plaza. Today, he performs regularly in NYC with The Hazard Kings, a country-western music band. He received his Master's degree in Earth and Environmental Science, and teaches chemistry and biology in New York City where he now lives.
