Loggia Glen Cove Installs Officers for 2026–2027 Term

Glen Cove, NY — Loggia Glen Cove, Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America, welcomed members, community leaders, and guests for its annual Installation of Officers ceremony on Wednesday evening, celebrating the lodge’s proud traditions and the installation of its leadership for the 2026–2027 term. The evening brought together lodge members, friends, neighbors, elected officials, and representatives of the Order from across New York State for a meaningful and celebratory gathering.

The highlight of the evening was the installation of the lodge’s officers for the 2026–2027 term. Newly installed officers include President Raphael (Ralph) Ciano; 1st Vice President Rocco Totino; 2nd Vice President Dr. Charles Gambino; Immediate Past President Marisa Cipriano Gambino; Orator Mike Stanco; Recording Secretary Pam Shaddock; Financial Secretary Peter O'Connor; Corresponding Secretary Christina Abbondandolo; and Treasurer Santina Gilio.

Trustees installed for the new term include Mark Galluccio, Ivonne Ciano, Ginger Hartney, Nives Mattiasich, Anthony Celifarco, Angelo Stanco, Domenick Stanco, Michael Gadaleta, and Angelo Grande. Ceremonial Officers include Gaitley Stevenson-Mathews and Andrea Gallo, and Sentinels include Larraine Tassis and Luigi Saviano.

Lodge Leadership with State Vice President

Members of the Arbitration Committee include Al DeBlasio, Saverio Gallace, Anthony Ceriello, Janice Ceriello, and Joseph A. Gallo. Alternate Arbitration Committee members include Kathryn Grande, Rocco DiSibio, Josephine DiSibio, and Frank Stanco.

Loggia Glen Cove is part of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America, one of the nation’s largest and oldest organizations dedicated to preserving Italian-American heritage and supporting charitable, cultural, and educational initiatives. The lodge holds regular monthly meetings and hosts community events and cultural programs throughout the year, providing members opportunities for fellowship, service, and civic engagement.

“I am honored to step into the role of President and continue the proud tradition of Loggia Glen Cove,” said newly installed President Raphael (Ralph) Ciano. “Our lodge has a long history of service, friendship, and cultural pride, and I look forward to working with our officers and members to keep strengthening the lodge and serving the community.”

Glen Cove Mayor Pam Panzenbeck congratulated the lodge’s new leadership and recognized its longstanding presence in the community.

“Loggia Glen Cove has long been an important part of the fabric of our city,” said Mayor Panzenbeck. “Congratulations to new President Ralph Ciano, Immediate Past President Marisa Cipriano Gambino, and the lodge’s officers. The lodge continues to celebrate Italian-American heritage while giving back to the Glen Cove community.”

The First Lodge on Long Island
The Loggia Glen Cove building, located at 69 Glen Street in Glen Cove, is home to the oldest lodge of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America on Long Island. The lodge was founded on April 10, 1920, and continues to serve the community while preserving Italian-American heritage.

Immediate Past President Marisa Cipriano Gambino reflected on her two years leading the lodge.

“It has been a privilege to serve as President of Loggia Glen Cove,” Gambino said. “The strength of this lodge comes from its members and their commitment to our heritage and community. I’m proud of what we accomplished together and look forward to continuing to support the lodge.”

Representatives of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America from the national, state, and district levels were present, along with leaders from neighboring lodges. Among those attending were New York State First Vice President Luigi Squillante, representing New York State President Arthur Spera; National Trustee and State Past President Carolyn Reres; State Treasurer Andrew Reilly Jr.; State 2nd Vice President Ernest Magliato; District I State Trustee Anthony Rotoli Jr.; District II State Trustees Tony Conetta, Andrew Monteleone, and William Sanfilippo; and the lodge’s District Deputy, John Simonetti.

Also in attendance were leaders from neighboring lodges and affiliated organizations, including President Joseph Armocida of America Lodge #2245; Immediate Past President Joann Motola Grossman of Cellini Lodge #2206; Co-Chair Marianne Prince of the Garibaldi Meucci Museum; President Neil Brennan of Lt. Joseph Petrosino Lodge; Past President Anthony Vasaturo of Judge Frank A. Gulotta Lodge #2180; Trustee and Heritage and Culture Co-Chair Lisa Vecchio Belinsky of the John Michael Marino Lodge; and Past President Kathy Schumacher-Sanfilippo of Galileo Galilei Lodge.

A number of local elected officials were also present to recognize the lodge and its leadership, including Glen Cove Mayor Pam Panzenbeck; Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton; and Glen Cove City Council Members Grady Farnan, Michael Ktistakis, Daniele Fugazy Scagliola, John Perrone, and John Zozzaro. Members of the local judiciary were also present, including Judge Joe Capobianco and Judge Ellen Savino, along with Dr. Maxine Mayreis, President of the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce.

During the course of the evening, citations were presented on behalf of several public officials and governmental bodies. Mayor Pam Panzenbeck presented a citation on behalf of the City of Glen Cove; Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton presented a citation on behalf of the Nassau County Legislature; Councilmembers John Zozzaro and John Perrone presented a citation on behalf of Assemblymember Charles Lavine and the New York State Assembly; Councilwoman Daniele Fugazy Scagliola presented a citation on behalf of Congressman Tom Suozzi and the United States Congress; Councilmembers Grady Farnan and Michael Ktistakis presented a citation on behalf of Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Town of Oyster Bay; and John Canning presented a citation on behalf of Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and Nassau County.

The rich history of Loggia Glen Cove dates back to April 10, 1920. The lodge is the oldest Sons and Daughters of Italy lodge on Long Island and continues to play an important role in preserving Italian-American heritage while supporting community initiatives and charitable efforts throughout the region.
