Major Glen Cove Heroin Supplier Busted: Police
The woman had nearly 600 bags of heroin in her possession at the time of her arrest, police say.

A major heroin supplier of Glen Cove and the surrounding area had 598 bags of heroin in her possession at the time of her arrest Tuesday, police say.
Authorities pulled over a vehicle on Decatur Street in Brooklyn and placed Damaris Lee Santana, 22, of Brooklyn, under arrest along with Jessica Cales, 35, of Brooklyn. Santana allegedly possessed 598 bags of heroin and approximately $3,900 in cash. Her 12-year-old sibling was inside the vehicle at the time of her arrest.

A prior extensive investigation revealed Santana was supplying large amounts of heroin to Glen Cove and the surrounding area, police say.
Santana was charged with second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, five counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and six counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Cales was charged with second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Both women were arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead. Santana was held on $150,000 cash bail and Cales was held on $100,000 cash bail.
The Glen Cove Police Department worked with Nassau County Narcotics, ATF and Suffolk County Police in this investigation.
