Men Charged With Stealing Over $1K in Red Bull From Glen Cove Supermarkets

Both men have lengthy criminal records, police said.

Two men with lengthy criminal records were arrested Wednesday for stealing over $1,000 in Red Bull energy drinks from Glen Cove supermarkets over the past month, police said.

According to police, a man stole over $600 worth of Red Bull from King Kullen, located at 77 Forest Avenue, on Monday, July 22 and returned to steal $400 worth of Red Bull on Friday, June 26.

Glen Cove Police were then alerted the vehicle involved in thee King Kullen larcenies was in front of the local Shop & Shop, located at 177 Forest Avenue, on Wednesday, July 29.

A security officer reportedly saw the suspect walk of of the supermarket with a shopping cart full of Red Bull and baby formula.

Authorities pulled the vehicle over on Brewster Street and recovered over $1,000 in stolen proceeds from Stop & Shop.

Michael Haynes, 56, of the Bronx, was arrested and charged with fourth degree grand larceny.

John Walston, 48, was arrested and charged with fourth degree grand larceny and charged with the two prior larcenies that occurred at King Kullen. 

The two men were arraigned in District Court on Thursday.

Walston is being held on $4,500 cash bail and Haynes is being held on $2,500 cash bail.
