New Glen Cove Fire Department Officers Get Sworn-in

Meet the newest officers serving the City of Glen Cove.

New Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department officers were recently sworn-in at the annual installation dinner held at the City’s fire house.

Mayor Reggie Spinello swore-in officers from each of the GCVFD’s four companies, the Fire Police Unit and the Rescue Squad.

“I am proud of the work that each and every one of our members does to safeguard the Glen Cove community,” said Chief Philip Grella Jr., who welcomed department members, their families and distinguished guests to the swearing-in ceremony.

Ex-Chief Michael J. Maher moderated the festivities.

“People often forget that our fire department members are all volunteers who each day put their lives on the line for the health and wellness of our residents,” Mayor Reggie Spinello said. “On behalf of the city, we give our heartfelt gratitude to each of you and your families and wish our officers and their company's continued success during your 180th Anniversary year.”
