North Shore High School Evacuates for Suspicious Package
BREAKING: The package turned out to be a pressure cooker thrown out by a science teacher.

UPDATED at 12:40 a.m.:
North Shore High School in Glen Head was evacuated for more than an hour Wednesday morning while authorities investigate the discovery of a pressure cooker, police say.
According to authorities, the call for a suspicious item at the school, located at 450 Glen Cove Ave., came in at 10:15 a.m.

According to police, a science teacher threw out the pressure cooker and it was later discovered, prompting the evacuation.
Authorities secured the school to make sure that it was safe for students to re-enter the building. Students were able to enter the school at around 11:30 a.m., police said.

No injuries have been reported.
