On Sunday, April 2, 2023, 3 pm at the North Shore High School Theater, The Northwinds Symphonic Band will present their annual Spring program - Concert Band Classics and Virtuoso Artistry. Admission is free.

Under the direction of Helen P. Bauer, conductor, and Brandon Bromsey, associate conductor, the band will showcase musicians from the band who will dazzle with their virtuosity and musical interpretation.

Featured soloists are Ruben Shonik on xylophone playing the musically pyrotechnic The Big Dipper, Eric Volaski on alto sax with his beautiful rendition of the Hoagy Carmichael classic Stardust, David Abrams on euphonium demonstrating his tone, impressive technique and style with the showpiece All Those Endearing Young Charms, and Erik Beuttenmuller on french horn with a lyrical and melodious performance of Strauss’ Rondo for Horn.

In addition, the band is proud to perform the U.S. premiere of Transformations, an exciting new piece by Long Island composer Raymond Osnato.

Other programmed pieces include concert band classics by John Williams, Robert Russell Bennett, and Reinhold Glière.

The North Shore High School Theater is located at 450 Glen Cove Avenue, Glen Head, NY 11545, and is wheelchair accessible.
