Online Threat To Glen Cove Deemed Not Credible: Glen Cove Police Department

Police were notified by Glen Cove Schools of a possible online threat; police urge parents to monitor their children's social accounts.

GLEN COVE, NY — A possible online thread was directed at the Glen Cove community on Monday, police said.

The Glen Cove Police Department said on Facebook that they were notified by the Glen Cove School District of a possible online threat. After interviewing the students who reported the post and following a joint review with school district officials, police determined the threat was not credible, GCPD said.

The GCPD encourages parents to monitor their children's social media activity "to help prevent similar incidents in the future."

If someone observes a thread to the schools or community, the GCPD urges them to report it to police immediately.
