Pedestrian Killed After Early Morning Crash On Glen Cove Road In Greenvale: Police

NCPD police say a woman was struck by a Dodge Challenger.

GREENVALE, NY — A female pedestrian was killed after she was struck by a car on Monday morning in Greenvale, police say.

Nassau County police said Claudia Moncada, 69, of Glen Cove, was crossing Glen Cove Road eastbound when she was struck by a red 2018 Dodge Challenger, driven by a 26-year-old man traveling northbound.

She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead by hospital staff, police said.

NCPD said the man remained on the scene, and the investigation is ongoing. The crash occurred at approximately 6:02 a.m. on March 9.
