Perfect Weather Brings Steady Turnout to Downtown Glen Cove Street Fair

Downtown Glen Cove was bustling on Saturday, September 19, as families, friends, and visitors turned out for the City’s annual Street Fair, held in partnership with Nassau County Fairs.

Sunny weather set the tone for a full day of activities along Glen Street and School Street. Children enjoyed pony rides and a petting zoo, while visitors browsed a wide variety of vendors, sampled food and treats, and listened to live music performed by The Jam Brothers, a Glen Cove band. The Deep Roots Farmers Market at Village Square added even more to the festive atmosphere.

The Street Fair brought increased foot traffic throughout downtown, giving residents and visitors an opportunity to shop, dine, and support Glen Cove’s local businesses.

“It was a beautiful day in Glen Cove, and there was such a wonderful energy downtown,” said Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck. “Seeing children riding the ponies, families enjoying the music, and so many people visiting our downtown and supporting our businesses is exactly what this event is all about.”

Mayor Panzenbeck thanked Nassau County Fairs, the Glen Cove Special Events Committee and its volunteers, the Department of Public Works, Glen Cove Police Department, Glen Cove Auxiliary Police, and Glen Cove EMS for helping make the event a success. She also thanked Roni Jenkins, who volunteered her time to organize the Street Fair, and Susan Tripp in the Mayor’s Office for her assistance and support.
