Pets in Costume to March in Glen Cove's Howl'oween Pet Parade
Participating pets from previous years have included dogs, cats, guinea pigs, parrots and even a snake.
Glen Cove’s move beloved four-legged, furry friends will parade through the City in adorable costumes for the Fifth Annual Howl’oween Pet Parade on Sunday, October 25.
Participating pets from previous years have included dogs, cats, guinea pigs, parrots and even a snake.
Get creative with the outfits: there will be a contest held for the pets with the best costumes. Humans are also encouraged to dress up. Matching pet/owner costumes are encouraged.

Memorable costumes from previous years include superheroes, witches and even a horse.
“This is my dog Cooper’s favorite City event and as there are so many creative people in the Glen Cove community, I know the competition will be ‘ruff’,” Mayor Reggie Spinello said in a press release.

The event will be held from noon to 2 p.m. The parade starts at Pulaski Street and goes down School Street.
The costume contest will offer prizes for:
- Smallest Pet
- Biggest Pet
- Most Exotic
- Best Costume
- Most Original Costume
- Best Pet/Owner Costume Combo
More attractions:
- Vendors will set up in Village Square following the parade.
- All registered participants will receive a free raffle ticket to win one of three gift baskets.
- The Glen Cove City Clerk’s office will be on-hand to register dogs for a New York State Dog License.
- Refreshments and snacks will be available for sale for human participants.
- PETCO will provide free treats for the dogs.
Registration will begin at 11 a.m. behind Glen Cove City Hall at 9 Glen St. You can download a registration form at www.glencove-li.com.
