Police: Man Hid Loaded Handgun Inside Halloween Mask in Glen Cove
The 32-year-old was wanted for a violation of federal probation and a pending domestic violence charge from the NYPD, police said.

A Hempstead man was arrested in Glen Cove after authorities say they found a loaded handgun wrapped inside a Halloween mask inside his vehicle on Thursday.
According to Glen Cove Police, detectives pulled over a vehicle driven by Kashawn Jackson, 32, who was wanted for a violation of federal probation and a pending domestic violence charge from the New York City Police Department.

Authorities then found a loaded 9mm handgun wrapped in a mask inside the vehicle, police said.
Jackson was charged with second degree criminal possession of a weapon, third degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon and violation of probation.

Detective Lieutenant John Nagle of the Glen Cove Police praised the joint efforts of the NYPD, Federal Probation, and the entire Glen Cove detective Division in making the arrest.
“We all worked together sharing information which was used by the Glen Cove detective division to make this arrest and to take another illegal handgun off the streets of Glen Cove,” Nagle said.
Jackson will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead.
