Preview: Glen Cove Girls Basketball to Face Floral Park

Lady Big Red looking for home win after first away victory in Great Neck.

Glen Cove vs. Floral Park, Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 – 12 p.m.

After a 58-45 win against the  Great Neck North Lady Blazers (6-9, 3-6 in conference), the Glen Cove girls basketball squad is looking to add to their win column in the Conference A-III. In their win on Friday, Taylah Hudson, an eighth-grader, had 20 points. McKayla Hernandez, also an eight-grader added 19 points and six rebounds for Glen Cove.

The Lady Knights of Floral Park are coming off of a 73-58 loss to North Shore on Saturday. The 9-2 team (6-1 in conference) is looking for a win. North Shore sophomore Erin Sheerin had a career-high 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assist game. Amanda Johansen added 15 points, 12 rebounds and four assists for the 8-0 North Shore team.
