Based on the theme of ‘Breaking Barriers in History,’ students worked with middle school social studies teachers Mr. Contorno, Mr. Smith, Mr. Borysewicz, Mrs. Roberts and Ms. Durham, along with librarian Ms. DiPaola on a variety of topics to create websites that would educate others. Throughout the day students practiced critical inquiry, how to ask questions of significance, the importance of time and place and were immersed in their research to create thorough and historically accurate websites.

In addition, students from Glen Cove High School and R.M. Finley Middle School will continue on to compete in the National History Day Competition at Hofstra University on March 29.
