Located on Long Island in Wantagh, NY, what started as a department store in 1954 evolved into the bicycle and fitness store we have today. Our staff of 60 to 110 employees (seasonally) wants to make your cycling and home fitness experiences as convenient and enjoyable as possible. At Glenhead Martial Arts &amp; Fitness, we believe martial arts is about much more than punches and kicks. It's about helping children and adults become healthier, more confident, and more resilient in every aspect of life.
As a family-owned dojo serving Glen Head and the surrounding North Shore communities, we've created an environment where students of all ages can thrive. Whether your child is shy and looking to build confidence, needs help developing focus and discipline, or simply wants to stay active in a positive environment, our instructors are committed to helping every student reach their full potential.
Our programs emphasize respect, perseverance, leadership, self-confidence, and healthy habits that extend far beyond the dojo. While many of our students train recreationally for fitness and personal growth, others have gone on to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
Our coaching staff includes former Team USA athletes, national champions, and international medalists. Today, we're proud to have athletes representing Team USA on the world stage, including the nation's #1-ranked woman at 55 kg and the #1-seeded athlete on the USA Junior Team in the Girls 12-13 (-52 kg) division. Their success demonstrates what's possible through dedication, hard work, and a supportive community.
Despite these accomplishments, our greatest source of pride isn't the medals. It's watching students gain confidence, make lifelong friendships, overcome challenges, and grow into respectful, resilient young adults.
