Special Election Candidates Offer Rides To Polls Amid Snowstorm

The election is to replace George Santos in Congress

GLEN COVE, NY — Although the snow is expected to wind down by early afternoon, it could cause logistical problems for voting in Tuesday's special election.

Tom Suozzi, the Democrat seeking a return to Congress, is coordinating rides for constituents in the 3rd District.

The Suozzi campaign said residents can call (646) 770-3557 or if the number is busy, call (516) 500-1577.

The former Nassau County Executive is opposed by Mazi Pilip, a two-term legislator from Glen Cove. Despite her limited experience, she was within four points, according to a Siena College/Newsday poll released last week.

Pilip's campaign said they are also ensuring voters can reach the polling location by calling (516) 662-4633 or going to their website.

The special election is a chance to erase the George Santos tumult that gripped the House chamber for nearly a year until his expulsion in December.

Polls are open until 9 p.m.
