Three Northwell Health Departments Recognized with Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Awards

Southside Hospital’s radiation medicine department, Long Island Jewish Valley Stream’s inpatient behavioral health department and Glen Cove Hospital’s ambulatory surgery department have received the 2016 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence award for their consistently high levels of excellence in patient care.

To achieve the designation, these departments consistently reached the 95th percentile or above in the area of patient experience.

This is the third consecutive year that Southside Hospital’s radiation medicine unit has received this recognition and the second consecutive year LIJ Valley Stream (then Franklin Hospital) has been awarded this honor.

“This designation is a wonderful honor that takes a great deal of hard work and dedication from each department’s staff and an unwavering commitment to excellence,” said David Battinelli, MD, chief medical officer at Northwell Health. “We commend those teams and are very proud of their achievement and commitment to their patients.”
