Unsafe Bathing Conditions At Glen Cove Beaches After Heavy Rainfall

GLEN COVE, NY — The Nassau County Department of Health has issued an advisory against bathing at 20 beaches for Monday, including Glen Cove and nearby beaches.

This is a precautionary advisory for beaches that are known to be affected by stormwater runoff caused by heavy rainfall, which can impact bacteria levels.

Glen Cove's Crescent Beach recently reopened this summer after it was shuttered for 17 years due to unsafe bacteria levels that exceeded New York State's standard for bathing water quality.

Glen Cove and nearby beaches that are impacted by Monday's advisory, which is to be lifted by 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7:

• Crescent Beach – Glen Cove
• Morgan Memorial Park Beach – Glen Cove
• Pryibil Beach – Glen Cove
• Tappen Beach – Glenwood Landing
• Sea Cliff Village Beach – Sea Cliff
• Sea Cliff Yacht Club Beach – Sea Cliff

Sixteen of these beaches are on the North Shore, and four more are on the South Shore. More information can be found on the Nassau County Department of Health's website.
