GLEN COVE, NY—The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, along with a mobile Education Center, is headed to Long Island, courtesy of Heroes Among Us.

It will be received at the Glen Cove Fire Department on August 27 before it will be escorted to its final destination at Eisenhower Park, Field 2. The wall will be open 24 hours a day and free to the public beginning August 29 and ending September 1.

The Wall That Heals honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed
Forces during the Vietnam War, and it bears the names of the 58,000-plus men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial remains one of the most visited memorials in the United States capital, with over 5.3 million visitors each year. However, the majority of Americans have not been able to visit what has become commonly referred to as "The Wall." Heroes Among Us is now able to offer the opportunity and experience to families across Long Island and New York to see the Memorial.

“It is a privilege, and we are proud to have been chosen as the only organization in NYS to
receive 'The Wall' for the 2019 tour by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund," Virginia
Cervasio, founder and board chair of Heroes Among Us, stated via press release. "We hope it will bring honor and healing to our veterans, as well as an educational experience for the whole community on the impact of the Vietnam War on America."
