GREAT NECK, NY — After a barbecue fire on Wednesday evening, two Great Neck residents have been displaced from their home, fire marshals said.
Firefighters responded to a barbecue fire that occurred on the outside of a two-story home, extending to the home, at 5:26 p.m. on Elliot Road, the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said.
The Great Neck Vigilant Fire Company placed the fire under control within 20 minutes with 50 firefighters on scene, according to fire marshals.
No injuries were reported, and the Red Cross was not requested, fire marshals said.
Great Neck Alerts Fire Company, New Hyde Park, Albertson, Manhasset/Lakeville, and Plandome fire departments responded as mutual aid, fire marshals said.
