AT&T's stores in Floral Park and Great Neck do not have power yet, but we've trucked in generators to set up free charging stations for the public.

As of yesterday morning, 96.5 percent of our cell sites are up and running across the region impacted by Hurricane Sandy. More than 90 percent of our cell sites across New York City including in Manhattan are up and running. We expect to make continued good progress as power and other infrastructure issues are resolved.  We are also welcoming storm victims to visit its temporary mobile charging stations.  Local residents can take advantage of free cell phone and tablet charging stations (customers of all carriers welcome.)  The company will be adding new locations through the weekend.  For a complete list: http://blogs.att.net/consumerblog/story/a7785324

AT&T and T-Mobile also have entered into an agreement to enable roaming on their networks to customers of both companies in the heavily impacted areas and where capacity is available and subscribers have a compatible device. AT&T and T-Mobile customers will be able to place calls just as they normally would, but their calls will be carried by whichever network is most operational in their area. This will be seamless for AT&T and T-Mobile customers with no change to their current rate plans or service agreements.

 The AT&T Foundation today announced $250,000 in grants to organizations providing Hurricane Sandy relief and care efforts in four hard-hit states. The grant recipients are:

• $100,000 to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey
• $50,000 to the Food Bank for New York City
• $50,000 to Long Island Cares, Inc.

The local grants build on a $250,000 national grant to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief fund, bringing to $500,000 AT&T’s total grants for Hurricane Sandy relief.

Also, AT&T wireless customers can make a $10 donation for Hurricane Sandy relief by texting to the following non- profit organizations:

• REDCROSS to 90999 to support the American Red Cross
• STORM to 80888 to help the Salvation Army
• HUMANE to 80888 to give to the American Humane Society

Customers who would like to contribute more can text up to five times for a total donation of $50. One hundred percent of any donation will be paid to the customer's designated charity and the customer will be charged for the donation via the customer's monthly AT&T bill.
