Adapted from the original to be suitable for younger performers, Chicago Teen follows the scandalous story of Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, two fame-hungry performers on trial for murder, who become media sensations with the help of lawyer and media spin-doctor, Billy Flynn. The show’s themes of celebrity obsession, crime, corruption, injustice, and manipulation remain as relevant as when the show opened in 1975.
Chicago Teen Edition is a compelling combination of satirical social commentary and iconic choreography - all set to a timeless jazz score. Performances are Friday and Saturday, November 21-22 at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, November 23 at 3 p.m. at the John L. Miller Great Neck High School (30 Polo Road, Great Neck, NY 11032.) The run-time of the show is about 2 hours with a brief intermission. Admission is $10 for students, senior citizens (65+); and $15 General Admission. Tickets are on sale now at performingartsgreatnecknorth.ludus.com
All proceeds benefit Great Neck North’s Junior Players. Chicago Teen Edition is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals www.concordtheatricals.com
