“The recommendations for patients with diabetes are the same as for the general public,” Ms. Faizullahboy said regarding proper diet. “Look at creating a healthy plate; make sure that you include a variety of foods. And pay attention to portion control.”
Depending on whether a person is trying to maintain their weight or lose weight, they should eat about three meals a day and two or three snacks, Ms. Faizullahboy says.
