Cops: Accident on LIE, Delays Likely

Eastbound lanes closed in eastern Nassau, could effect other areas.

Police partially closed down the Long Island Expressway Friday morning after an accident and are telling motorists to expect delays.

At 10:30 Friday morning, Nassau County Police said they responded to a collision near Exit 37 in the left eastbound lanes of the LIE. NCPD announced that the lanes surrounding the accident site were closed as crews secured the scene.

While drivers can expect delays until further notice, officers believed the lanes would be cleared quickly.
