EAC Network’s Meals on Wheels Program Receives a $2,500 Grant

EAC Network is proud to announce its Meals on Wheels program received a generous $2,500 grant from the Meals on Wheels Association of America (MOWAA). The grant was awarded for the human service agency’s efforts to raise community awareness and participation to support local homebound seniors in need during Subaru of America’s “Share the Love” Campaign, which is designed as a way for Subaru dealers to give back to their local communities throughout the holiday season.

“We are delighted to have this added support to our Meals on Wheels program,”stated Carol O’Neill, Regional Director of Senior & Nutritional Services.“The funds from this grant will directly help to end senior hunger by providing meals to homebound seniors who are currently on our waiting list. These nutritious meals will enhance the seniors’ health and enable them to continue to live in the homes they love.” Nassau County seniors 60 and over who are unable to shop and cook because of medical reasons, can call 516.539.0150 ext. 219 to see if they are eligible for home deliveries.

MOWAA’s President & CEO Ellie Hollander noted, "Subaru recognizes the importance of giving back to the communities it serves. Working together, Meals On Wheels and Subaru are helping to provide more than just a meal; we’re bringing warmth and compassion to so many hungry and homebound seniors who would otherwise go without.”
