Great Neck Inventors Have Million-Dollar Vision
The two created a functional and helpful form of eyewear.

Two Great Neck residents think their invention is the next million-dollar idea.
Sara Blumenstein and Phil Cook showed their invention, “Lunai Eyeglasses,” at the Nassau County Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club showcase Sept. 12 in Mineola.
The annual showcase allows residents to take their ideas and turn them into viable business products.

Blumenstein, who is a middle-school science teacher, and Cook, a biotechnology engineer in the ophthalmology department at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, did just that.
The two developed “Lunai Eyeglasses,” which allow the reader to rotate up one or both of the glasses to allow for reading or the application of makeup.

The glasses come equipped with interchangeable nosepieces and no hinges. According to Blumenstein, about 40 percent of eyeglass wearers are required to remove their glasses when participating in certain activities. Lunai Eyeglasses solve this problem.
The duo will soon seek crowd funding to market the glasses. Contact Lunai Eyewear via email at lghdesigns@gmail.com.
