Special Weather Statement Issued for Nassau

Use caution if venturing out tonight, National Weather Service says.

The National Weather Service has issued the following special weather statement for Nassau County:

ANY STANDING WATER FROM SNOW THAT MELTED WILL REFREEZE TONIGHT AS TEMPERATURES DROP INTO THE 20S. ICY SPOTS ARE ANTICIPATED...ESPECIALLY ON ANY UNTREATED SURFACES SUCH AS ROADS AND WALKWAYS. PEOPLE SHOULD USE CAUTION WHEN VENTURING OUT TONIGHT.

Tonight- A chance of snow, mainly before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. North wind 5 to 13 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Monday- Partly sunny, with a high near 29. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Blustery, with a northwest wind 18 to 21 mph.

Monday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 17. Wind chill values between zero and 10. West wind around 18 mph.

Tuesday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 26. Wind chill values between zero and 10. Blustery, with a northwest wind 17 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

Tuesday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 21. Blustery, with a northwest wind 16 to 20 mph.
