Zeuterathon

FIRST LONG ISLAND ZEUTERATHON

GREAT NECK DOG AND CAT HOSPITAL is pleased to be taking part in the first Zeuterathon in our area.  What is that?  Zeuterin is an FDA approved product that sterilizes male dogs between 3 and 10 months without surgery or general anesthesia.

Dogs are lightly sedated, the testicle is measured and each one is injected with a sterile buffered zinc solution.  They maintain their natural appearance and some level of testosterone (important for growth and development) but are sterile and cannot produce puppies.

Information on the product and the procedure can be found on our facebook page.  For this event, the product has been donated by Ark Sciences, the producer of Zeuterin.  This will keep the fees even lower than usual.  But, space and quantities are limited so you must call for an appointment at 516-482-2552.  Or request one on line.  Make sure that you select the Great Neck location and put Zeuterin in the nature of the request.

The fee for Zeutering your pet is $75 and it includes the pre sedation exam, sedation, the procedure, pain medication injection, and a small tattoo identifying your dog as Zeutered.  Not for profit groups will be charged $50. These fees are only good for this event and will go up when we are out of donated product.
