18-Year-Old, Jacqueline Koslosky, Suffers Head Trauma

At around 9:30 this morning on Vanderbilt Parkway, there was a head-on collision between two cars in front of , said Tom Magno, assistant chief at the .

An 18-year-old female was unconscious upon Magno's arrival.

It was evident she wasn't wearing seat belt, he said.

She was transported via ambulance with DHFD medics to Huntington Hospital, condition unknown, but with head trauma. 

The other woman had to be extricated by DH firemen using a hurst tool and she suffered neck and back injuries.

Suffolk County Police Second Squad have verified that the 18 year old who was driving a 2008 Nissan Altima westbound on Vanderbilt Parkway, near Winthrop Drive, in Dix Hills this morning is named Jacqueline Koslosky. Kosklosky lost control of the vehicle, crossed over to the eastbound side of the road and crashed head on into a 2004 Lexus, driven by Fran Ross

The police have verified that Koslosky, 18, of 31 Altamore St., Melville, and Ross, 48, of 6 Fairview Drive, Dix Hills, were both transported by Dix Hills Rescue to Huntington Hospital. Koslosky was listed in critical condition with head injuries and Ross was being treated for neck and back injuries.
