2 Men Steal Rolex Watch In Suffolk: Police

The men handed the seller a bag of newspaper clippings instead of a bag with $40,000 in it, police say.

DIX HILLS, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in finding the two men who police said stole a Rolex watch earlier this month.

A man who was selling a Rolex watch met with two potential buyers at a Dix Hills business around 10:45 p.m. Feb. 10, police said. The men initially showed the seller a bag with $40,000, but switched the bag to one filled with newspaper clippings before leaving the store with the Rolex, police said. They are wanted for grand larceny.

Police ask anyone with information to reach Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip via phone call at 1-800-220-TIPS, using a mobile app which can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play by searching P3 Tips, or online at www.P3Tips.com. A cash reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
