3 Teens Hurt in Dix Hills Overturn Crash

A Jeep struck a tree Monday night, fire officials say.

Three teens were transported to a local hospital after a Jeep struck a tree and overturned in Dix Hills Monday night, fire officials say.

A Jeep Renegade was involved in the single-car crash on Buttonwood Drive at 9 p.m. The three teens inside the vehicle were able to escape the wreckage, fire officials say.

The teens were transported to Huntington Hospital by the Dix Hills Rescue Squad to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Suffolk Police as well as about 25 Dix Hills firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene with two heavy rescue trucks, three ambulances, paramedic and first responder units.

All units were under the command of chief Robert Fling and assistant chiefs Tom Napolitano, Alan Berkowitz and Joe Williamson.
