NYFA's ARTIST AS ENTREPRENEUR BOOT CAMP Comes to the Art League of Long Island April 25 & 26!
A very successful professional development training program developed by The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA), and employed by various institutions throughout the country, is coming to Long Island. Working with NYFA, the Suffolk County Office of Film and Cultural Affairs has selected the Art League of Long Island to offer this exciting program at their center in Dix Hills on April 25 & 26 from 9am – 4pm both days.
ARTIST AS ENTREPRENEUR BOOT CAMP provides artists with a unique opportunity for individualized focus on the professional and business side of their creative practice. It is a rigorous blend of formal classes, individualized training, networking and group interaction. ARTIST AS ENTREPRENEUR BOOT CAMP helps artists to spark goals and to define concrete steps to building a business plan that can lead to financial security while providing individual and group feedback.
The curriculum emphasizes goal setting and creating a business plan, budgets and financial management, strengthening grant or project applications, improving writing and presentation skills and ways of identifying career opportunities. It provides a focus on expanding visibility as an artist with a particular emphasis on internet strategies. Presentations and one-on-one consultations by experts in the field are also provided.
